New Look For Bone And Spine

Yep! You are looking at the site with a new theme. While I liked the old look too, I am quite excited about the new theme I have adopted for the website.

It is Eleven-40 theme child theme for Genesis platform [on which the site is run]. The name comes from its maximum width 140 pixels.

This is one of the minor reasons I chose the new theme.

The major one is that the new theme is mobile responsive theme. It can detect the mobile devices and adjust the breadth accordingly.

So here is the good news. Accessing the website from a mobile device just becomes easier and better.

Would you please test on your devices and leave a comment on your user experience.

A Very Happy 2012

2011 has been a good year for BoneAndSpine if not wonderful. We have maintained a steady growth except for the  temporary decline in last quarter.

The temporary decline in performance has forced me to draw a strategy on website work so that the growth is maintained at increased pace.

2012 is going to be wonderful year for the website.

I take this opportunity to wish you all a good health in 2012 and happiness that lasts lifetime.

Have a wonderful year ahead.

Queries Have A New Address

For more than four years, this website has managed to deal with large number of health queries and concerns from across the globe. Answers were delayed more often than required but more or less it served the purpose.

All a reader had to do was to ask the question in the comment section after the post and in due course it would be answered. But that was obvious stuff.

What happened behind the scenes.

After you submit your comment, I get a mail from my website that a user has submitted a new comment. I could answer it right there or choose to queue it. [Read more...]

Bone And Spine Communities Page Suspended

What a waste of efforts and input I have been putting on community portal of this website. There have been so many spams and fake registrations that it had become impossible to carry out the functions of the website efficiently. Many of the genuine registrations suffered a delay in approval causing pain to members as well as me.

I have temporarily suspended the communities page. I am looking for a new software where these kind of problems would be minimized.

Would keep you informed.

I apologize to all those who have suffered because of this suspension.

Take care.

72 Hours To Respond

As more and more people interact on this site, a weak link is emerging heavily and that link rests with me. I take a very long time to respond to your queries. I know and I feel it. Sometimes people have asked questions which are of urgent nature and the delay causes them to become irrelevant by the time I answer them.

Sometimes the question gets delayed as long as two weeks.

Not acceptable.

I am trying to set a routine now. I have decided that I would try to respond to a question within 72 hours. While it is not a rule, it is definitely a rough estimate.

Please let me know your views on it.

Bandwidth Issue Solved

A big apology to those all who found site to be unavailable today for some time. The site exceeded its bandwidth limit. With 6000 users coming to us everyday, it had to happen.

The good news is that site is getting famous and more and more people are using it.

Quite heartening.

Anyway! The band width issue has been solved. The website can handle double the number of users it is handling at present.

Crashed Hard Disk

Hi! Last week hard disk of my laptop crashed. That is the reason I am not able to update and answer the queries asked in comments. Please bear with me and give me some more time.

I hope to see you in couple of days. Hard disk contained precious data and I seem to have lost the back up also. Data retrieval is my top priority and I am little occupied with that.

Take care.

Atypical Tuberculosis

Atypical tuberculosis is a disease caused by organisms in genus mycobacterium but are different from mycobacterium tuberculosis.  They are not passed from person to person and are generally referred to as non-tuberculosis mycobacterium (NTM) or mycobacterium other than tuberculosis (MOTT).

Though all of them are acid-fast bacilli, and may closely resemble M. tuberculosis when examined microscopically, they differ from each other in their growth requirements and growth characteristics on culture,  time required to grow in culture media and biochemical and genetic characteristics. Update On Bone And Spine Communities

Its been long that I could post here.

Its been more than a week since I announced the creation of communities on Bone And Spine. I did not realize the task it would bring though.

Because of budget constraints, I work on behind the scenes applications too and this results in problem of time devotion.

After I witnessed the amount of involvement and sharing happening on the site, providing a platform for those things became a priority. [Read more...]
