Fibula was fixed with one third tubular plate using open reduction and internal fixation. Medial malleolus was reduced closed and fixed with malleolar screws under Carm image intensifier.

The xray below shows an isolated fracture of posterior malleolus of tibia.

Postrior malleolus fractures in isolation are less common than the fracture along with medial or lateral malleolus. Some times all of these are fractured, a fracture known as Trimalleolar fracture.

42 years old male with injury in motor vehicle accident.
Had comminuted fracture of distal tibia along with lateral malleolus fracture.
An open reduction and internal fixation was carried for both the fractures.
Tibia was fixed with distal tibia anatomical plate and fibula was fixed with one third tubular plate.
