Projection taken with the central ray perpendicular to the midsaggital plane. A mid saggital plane would divide bodies into anterior and posterior halves. For example, in case of lateral view of neck, the cassette would be placed on one side of neck and the beam would come from other side. In most of the cases, this projection compliments AP view in routine radiography
