Three years old girl fell from bed and injured her forearm. Her xray showed following picture.

There is a fracture of radius which is minimally displaced and bowing of ulna and if you look carefully it would also reveal a greenstick fracture.
The fractures were managed with above elbow plaster cast.

@Dr.Pravin Asir,
Thanks for appreciating.
Hello Dr. Arun,
If you could kindly take some time off to read my query. My initial X-ray after the injury showed a hair-line fracture in my right ulnar shaft with absolutely no displacement. The doctor went onn to treat the fracture with a below elbow fibre glass cast and advised me to carry on daily activities such as typing,eating,writing so on. I was only told not to lift anything heavy. My arm was left in the normal position and not even a sling was suggested. 2 weeks into the treatment, the X-ray showed slight angulation. My doctor immediately asked me if I was moving my arm too much and I told him the movements were kept to the minimal. It is then that he went on to place an above elbow cast and placed my arm in a sling. It was too late for the remedy as 3 weeks later the X-ray showed even further angulation and called for surgery.
My concern remains, why was my arm not immobilised in the first place using an above elbow cast and left to chance knowing the possibilities. Could you please throw some light on the same Dr. Arun, as I am in complete agony and disheartened. As I am a flight attendant by profession, the surgery has proved to be an end to my career. Please reply.

@Shikayra,
I am not in position to answer why somebody did a particular treatment for your injury.
It might have been the best choice depending on your injury and your demands.
For answering on further course I need to see your xrays.
If possible you can send them through our contact address.
