Oblique fractures result due to indirect trauma on the bone.Femoral fractures require a major trauma to occur.
The following xray belongs to a 13 year old child who fell from height. Obliquity of the fracture is very clearly visible in this view. The bone has broken at upper third middle third junction.
Most of the fractures in young age can be managed on conservative treatment but recent reports have shown better outcomes with surgery in children of older age group (6-10 years).
In older children (>10 years), a higher role of surgery has been accepted because the skeleton becomes adult like in behavior.
This fracture was successfully managed with closed reduction and fixation with two titanium elastic nails.

@jagjot singh,
First of all, it needs to be determined if the bone has united or not.
If the bone has united, you can forget every worry abut screw.
If the bone has not united, our area of concern should be the union, not screw.
i underwent of letcondyle femur surgery a week back , now unable to bend knee , but the doctors tell me to bend my knee , kindly suggest how can i excercise at home to relax my knee

@gaurav sharma,
You need to see a physiotherapist who could teach you the exercises.
Do them under supervision for some time and then you can do yourself unsupervised.
will i b able to walk on my own without support , if u suggest i can send my scanned copies of pre and post surgeries xrays

Hi,
My nephew got injured in an accident, situation of his bone was the same as shown in xray. Doctors plastered his leg while edges of both bones are just touching each other. Bones are not right under each other. I am afraid whether this is the right way. need your opinion
