I have a non-union of the right fibula after a bone graft and 9 months.
This fracture was caused by a car accident I had a compound fracture of the tibia and the fibula.
about six years ago i jumped down off a chain link fence on to a hard surface and broke my right fibula.it came away from the ankle and broke about 3 inches up the bone well i had a plate and screws put on it but it came off and the bone is still not together after all this time my doctor said the only way to fix it is to fuse the ankle he is not going to fix the non union fracture.

@debbie kira,
Ankle arthrodesis (Surgical fusion) is a known treatment for situations where the problem can not be salvaged otherwise.
You can discuss your case with your doctor in detail and get your apprehensions addressed.
If you are not convinced, you might want to seek a second opinion on the matter.
