Hoffa Fracture Xrays Before and After Fixation

Hoffa fracture is fracture of femoral condyle in coronal plane [a plane that divides the body into front and back half]. This xray is of 33 years old male who injured his knee in an accident.

The xray is lateral view and the condyle involved was lateral femoral condyle.

The fracture was operated by open reduction and internal fixation and used 2 cannulated cancellous screws for fixation of the fracture.

Here is a Carm view after fixation

Neuromuscular Interventions Can Reduce Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injuries

A new metanalysis published in American Journal of Sports Medicine has stated that education and neuromuscular interventions can help to prevent anterior cruciate ligament injuries.

The study has been published online on 12 Sep 2012 in American Journal of Sports Medicine.

They analysed 14 studies from several databases including about  27,000 adolescents and adults.  Eight were cohort (observational) studies and 6 were randomized trials. [Read more...]
