The comments are open again. It seems that my decision to close the comments left many people struggling with the approach of reaching me.
Well! They are open again. Please use them judiciously and keep the discussion relevant.
I am often quite occupied by the content preparation for the site. So much that I hardly get any time for any other stuff on the site. I ought to outsource a lot of backend stuff to someone but I keep postponing because of many complex issues involved, cash flow involved.
The primary aim of this website was to impart awareness about orthopedics, diagnosis making, and treatment modalities. It is more of spreading the scientific knowledge in an unbiased manner.
The website aims to build musculoskeletal health awareness which is often sought when there is a health issue with oneself or around you.
However, running and maintaining the website involves a lot of expense, and as it becomes bigger, the expense is bound to increase. The ad revenue we get hardly runs the website in routine.
The site is sure getting bigger as more people recommend it to others. We get all the visitors from organic search, word of mouth [including social media]. It is really wonderful that we are reaching the 10000 visitor mark per day and now rank within 200000 at Alexa.
WordPress is a great platform and helped in a website’s growth. From simple articles, each of the topics became an opportunity for people to ask a personalized query or treatment doubts. People even asked for treatment prescriptions but those needed to be refused, of course, given the nature and limitations of the interface.
But the comments section also attracted unwanted people also who spammed. The Akismet does a beautiful job of keeping the comments clean but nothing is 100 percent efficient. The spams are a real pain.
They make you uncomfortable and eat a lot of time for just determining that they are spam and getting rid of them.
Therefore I chose to close the comments after a lot of deliberation. It was quite disheartening to see thousand of answered queries go away but the situation demanded to let them go.
But a website that claims to spread knowledge cannot be without letting an opportunity for asking a question.
Well! That is already in place. You can view questions as they are published. Its nothing much right now but things would improve soon and you would have everything in plenty.
How Can You Participate?
The system in place has a lot of functions potentially. But I am presenting you right now the only bare minimum. So let us see what you can do and what is um.. kind of limited.
No Treatment Advise Please
The treatment of a disease requires establishing the diagnosis and then offering a treatment with the frequent followup to gauge the response to treatment, monitor side effects and modify the treatment accordingly.
You need to see a doctor in your vicinity or of your choice so that frequent contacts and follow-ups be made.
No recommendations Please
Please do not ask for the best doctor for an ailment or a procedure. There would be no recommendations.
How to Ask a Question?
Because of data sensitivity involved, and to save the hassles of keeping storing and be answerable to data for sake of questions, the questions now need be mailed at [email protected] [dot] com.
I will read the question, publish an answer and mail the link back to you. Your first name would be mentioned in the question or answer for your identification.
Only the questions which qualify for an answer would be considered for publication. Otherwise, you would be conveyed that answer cannnot be given.
Please wait 5-7 days before you look for a communication in your mail
Are Questions Being Discouraged?
Not at all. But I wish to add a filter where unnecessary questions which do not help anyone are kept away.
