Bone and Spine

Orthopedic health, conditions and treatment

About

BoneAndSpine.com aims to help people understand orthopedics as a specialty branch of medical science.

Orthopedics as subject deals with movements and locomotion which involves musculoskeletal system and the factors affecting that.

When you consider that, the scope of the site becomes immense.

From a genetic disorder that affects bone growth to a metabolic condition affecting bone health to degenerative disorders, orthopedics has immense penetration in our lives.

And not to forget the injury.

Whether we are aware of this fact or not is a secondary issue.

The Purpose, the Need, and the Scope

BoneAndSpine is all about health education and awareness. The site provides information on various aspects of musculoskeletal health.

BoneAndSpine began in 2005 as a part-time writing interest when I had completed my orthopedics training and was doing a residency in the University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi, India.

An article here, an image there and soon I had something that helped people.

Fast forward to 2019 and the site has grown into a beautiful source of orthopedic science.

The purpose of the site is simple – to impart orthopedic knowledge to everyone and anyone who desires it.

Someone who wants to know more depth of the musculoskeletal system!

or someone who wants to know a particular injury and its treatment options!

A question about plaster cast!

A query on an orthopedic implant!

The site audience is quite wide.

I try to write a lot of stuff mostly covering but not limited to the following

  • Anatomy of Muscles, Bones, Joints, and Spine
  • Fractures and Dislocations
  • Diseases of the bones and joints
  • Radiology of Musculoskeletal system
  • Biomechanics of Different Regions
  • Orthosis and Prosthesis
  • Spine and its related disorders including injuries
  • Nerve Injuries and Tendon Injuries
  • Various OPD and OT procedures In orthopedics
  • Tips and Guides for Patients for practical application
  • Ergonomics

The website encourages people to ask questions and enrich knowledge by interaction.

The website, however, does not provide prescription services. Our scope is limited only to discuss and interact on the disease in general.

Specific questions, when asked about treatment and consultations, will not be answered specifically. Only general info would be provided.
